Ming rugs
The name "Late Ming" is given to a style of rugs woven before Persian influence was strongly felt in the designs forced upon Chinese weavers.
Only a few of the rugs thus classified are obtainable at the present time and in them the colors are soft and the general effect subdued.
Yellow tan, which has faded from apricot, and two shades of blue, with a dark brown natural wool, are the only colors used in the pile of the late Ming rugs of this style.
